Signs and Wonders

Mother Ana Walcott has experienced God’s grace and provision throughout her life but most recently, God performed the extraordinary. God healed Mother Walcott of debilitating osteoarthritis in both knees. Her condition had confined her to a wheelchair and left her unable to walk.

In 1994 she began to suffer terrible pain in her knees. Mother Anna visited her doctor. The diagnosis was a loss of cartilage in both knees. The prognosis-- an increase in debilitating pain and stiffness.

The condition worsened to the point that Mother Anna was confined to a wheelchair and could not move freely in her home. She often wondered, “why?” She had always been full of energy; loving to walk no matter the distance and now she had become a virtual prisoner.

But God was not far away…He had not forgotten her. On a Saturday in October, 2010, Mother Walcott came to church in her wheelchair and used the chair lift to climb the stairs. She enjoyed the praise and music during the service but really wasn’t expecting much. The service dismissed but God wasn’t finished. Pastor Deborah Carmichael began to minister to Mother Walcott. She began to tell her about the healing and hope that God offered to all who trust Him and that He was making a personal appeal to Mother Walcott – if she wanted to be healed, He was willing to do it! After receiving prayer, Mother Walcott began to stand and as she did so she felt strength return to her legs. She began to move her legs and walk without the wheelchair. She started walking around the sanctuary pushing her wheelchair in front of her. She started praising God while walking around the sanctuary over and over again. She left the church pushing her wheelchair in front of her!

The book of Hebrews, Chapter 13 verse 8 lets us know that Jesus Christ is the same –yesterday, today, and forever, which means He still performs miracles. In the book of Acts chapter 10 verse 34, the Apostle Peter realized that what God does for one person, He wants to do for all people when he said “I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.” We can conclude from these two scriptures that if God healed Mother Anna Walcott, He can do the same for you.
